Collagen and Aging
Skin ages as a result of the breakdown of connective tissue cells called fibroblasts. Fibroblasts manufacture collagen, which provides shape and elasticity to the skin and also supports or feeds the blood vessels that run through it.
As we age, the intricate matrix of collagen cells that provides skin with a supple appearance starts to deteriorate. Fibroblasts collapse, become fragmented and lose their ability to produce collagen. In fact, the normal balance between collagen and enzymes that degrade collagen is disrupted, and the connections between fibroblasts and collagen weaken further. Eventually, the skin loses its suppleness and elasticity entirely, and begins to wrinkle. Factors such as exposure to UV sunlight can accelerate this process. In fact, UV sunlight can reduce collagen production by as much as 80% with only short-term exposure.

Just came upon your website. Well Done!
I am sixty years young and want to share something I found that I love. It is a non-surgical face-lift mask. Non abrasive, works like isometric exercise for your facial muscles (people use it other places too).
Also, drink lots of water (not coffee, tea with water). Keeps cells hydrated and makes a big difference. If interested in the non-surgical lift, contact me through my web site.
Namaste,

Do the cosmetics which SAY they encourage your body to create it’s own collagen really work?
